Five Elements Detoxification Protocol

To grasp the essence of the Five Elements Detoxification Protocol visually, imagine a turtle with a prominent head. Begin by labeling the head as Fire and proceed clockwise to designate the first leg as Earth, the second leg on the right as Metal (or "air"), the third leg on the left as Water, and the final leg on the leg as Wood. By drawing arrows in a clockwise direction between each element, you can represent the interconnectedness. Additionally, you may draw an outer circle clockwise to symbolize the Yang phase of each element, while the inner arrows signify the Yin phase. This interconnected movement is known as the Creative Cycle.

Chinese Medicine recognizes three fundamental energy phases: Jing, Qi, and Shen. Jing corresponds to the physical aspect, Qi encompasses energy, and Shen embodies the spiritual level. When considering energy rebalancing, it is crucial to address all three levels comprehensively.

In this context, Jing can transform into Qi, Qi can manifest as Shen, Shen can precipitate into Qi, and Qi can ultimately precipitate into Jing. The Chinese philosophy emphasizes the need for a holistic approach when healing physical ailments like cancer. Merely "cutting it out" at the Jing level is insufficient; the underlying causes, including energy and spiritual aspects, must also be addressed. All three levels demand attention for effective healing.

Rupert Sheldrake's work on morphogenetic fields has brought these concepts into the mainstream scientific discourse. Disharmonious frequencies, such as electromagnetic fields, have the potential to create vulnerabilities in the Wei Qi field (energetic immunity), leading to increased susceptibility to illness.

The core principle of the 5 Elements Protocol lies in achieving balance at the Qi level. Notably, Dr. Dennis and Dr. Karen specialize in balancing the Shen level as well, adding expertise to the protocol.

While various philosophies place Earth at the center, signifying the necessity for all energies to pass through it, Worsely's 5 Elements training positions Earth on the periphery. In our discussion today, we align with the latter model.

In the Creation Cycle, Fire acts as the mother of Earth, and Earth serves as the mother of Metal. Likewise, Earth becomes the child of Fire, and Metal becomes the child of Earth. This cyclical relationship underscores the interconnectedness of the elements.

The Control Cycle operates as a regulating process. It involves drawing an arrow from Wood to Earth, Earth to Water, Water to Fire, Fire to Metal, and Metal back to Wood. For instance, Wood can be seen as the grandmother of Earth, and Earth assumes the role of the grandmother of Water. A delicate balance between water and fire is crucial, as disturbances in this equilibrium can lead to Shen issues (spiritual disturbances).

Addressing Yin and Yang Phases and Patching Options

In the Five Elements Detoxification Protocol, the yin phase corresponds to the spleen, while the yang phase is associated with the stomach. On the left side of the body, the yin point is Spleen 6, whereas the yang point on the right side is Stomach 36. To patch and balance this element, several options are available:

  1. Original Protocol:

    • Apply an IceWave or Energy Enhancer tan patch on the left Spleen 6.

    • Place a white patch on the right Stomach 36.

  2. Stress Relief and Hormone Balancing:

    • Utilize the SP6 Complete patch on the left Spleen 6.

    • Apply an Aeon patch on the right Stomach 36.

    • This combination promotes stress relief and hormone balancing.

  3. Stem Cell Enhancement:

    • Apply an X39 patch on the left Spleen 6.

    • Place an X49 patch on the right Stomach 36.

    • This combination aims to enhance stem cell activities.

  4. Repair and Detoxification Support:

    • Use a Carnosine patch on the left Spleen 6.

    • Apply either a Glutathione or Aeon patch on the right Stomach 36.

    • Carnosine is relatively yin compared to the Aeon or Glutathione patch.

    • This combination supports repair processes and aids in detoxification.

By selecting the appropriate patching options for the yin and yang phases, you can effectively support the balance and well-being of the spleen and stomach energies in the Five Elements Detoxification Protocol.

Addressing Yin and Yang Phases and Patching Options for Lung and Large Intestine

In the Five Elements Detoxification Protocol, the yin phase corresponds to the lung, while the yang phase is associated with the large intestine. Dr. Dennis recommends the yin-yang pairing of Lung 7 (a connecting point that pulls energy from the large intestine to the lung) or Lung 9 (a source point) on the left side of the body, along with Large Intestine 4 or 11.

To patch and balance these elements, several options are available:

1. Original Protocol:

- Apply an IceWave or Energy Enhancer tan patch on the left Lung 7 or 9.

- Place a white patch on the right Large Intestine 4 or 11.

2. Stress Relief and Hormone Balancing:

- Utilize the SP6 Complete patch on the left Lung 7 or 9.

- Apply an Aeon patch on the right Large Intestine 4 or 11.

- This combination promotes stress relief and hormone balancing.

3. Stem Cell Enhancement:

- Apply an X39 patch on the left Lung 7 or 9.

- Place an X49 patch on the right Large Intestine 4 or 11.

- This combination aims to enhance stem cell activities.

By selecting the appropriate patching options for the yin and yang phases, specifically targeting Lung 7 or 9 for the lung and Large Intestine 4 or 11 for the large intestine, you can effectively support the balance and well-being of these elements within the Five Elements Detoxification Protocol.

Addressing Yin and Yang Phases and Patching Options for Liver and Gallbladder

In the Five Elements Detoxification Protocol, the yin phase corresponds to the liver, while the yang phase is associated with the gallbladder. The yin point used is Liver 3, and the yang point can be Gallbladder 40 (Source Point) or Gallbladder 41 (master point for the Dai Ma, belt channel, which intersects all the other meridians going up and down the body).

To effectively balance these elements, you can consider the following patching options:

1. Original Protocol:

- Apply an IceWave or Energy Enhancer tan patch on the left Liver 3.

- Place a white patch on the right Gallbladder 40 or 41.

2. Stress Relief and Hormone Balancing:

- Utilize the SP6 Complete patch on the left Liver 3.

- Apply an Aeon patch on the right Gallbladder 40 or 41.

- This combination supports stress relief and hormone balancing.

3. Stem Cell Enhancement:

- Apply an X39 patch on the left Liver 3.

- Place an X49 patch on the right Gallbladder 40 or 41.

- This combination aims to enhance stem cell activities.

4. Repair and Detoxification Support:

- Use a Carnosine patch on the left Liver 3.

- Apply either a Glutathione or Aeon patch on the right Gallbladder 40 or 41.

- Carnosine is relatively yin compared to the Aeon or Glutathione patch.

- This combination supports repair processes and aids in detoxification.

Liver 3 is a crucial point as it helps disperse stagnant liver Qi, which can occur due to various toxic influences in our society. Stagnant liver Qi can lead to imbalances, such as liver attacking the spleen and causing spleen Qi deficiency or reckless blood leakage.

By selecting the appropriate patching options for the yin and yang phases, specifically targeting Liver 3 for the liver and Gallbladder 40 or 41 for the gallbladder, you can effectively support the balance and well-being of these elements within the Five Elements Detoxification Protocol.

Fire

For each element, you can divide it up into Yin and Yang. On the inside, closer to the center of the circle at the turtle’s head, write the yin meridians (heart and pericardium); on the outside part, write the yang meridian (small intestine and triple warmer). These are two yin/yang pairs in Fire. The heart has three protectors. The closest protector is its yang consort, the small intestine. Then the next closest is pericardium and triple warmer, respectively.

If the heart is the Emporer in its castle, and commands, regulates all the other organs in all the other elements, and has three protectors sitting in its castle. The walls of the castle are small intestines. These walls have little windows that can constrict and dilate to let in nutrients and suitable information and let out waste and bad information. Think of these are filters. They often get obstructed and the heart gets toxic. Toxicity isn’t just physical. It can be energetic and spiritual.

The pericardium represents the drawbridge to the castle. It can block things coming into the heart or let things in and vice versa. The Triple Burner represents the moat surrounding the castle. It is the last protector of the heart. San Jao of Triple Burner is like a water channel in Chinese medicine which means “hormones” in Western Medicine.

The yin point we use is Pericardium 6 on the left and triple burner (san jiao) 5 on the right. We would use this yin/yang pair for heart protector issues, including emotional and psychological issues. We would use the heart and small intestine for more mechanical/physical issues, such as heart rhythm problems and blockages. The yin/yang pair here would be heart 7 and small intestine 4. The heart-racing can be helped with this pair. Palpitation symptoms, for example. Just select which yin/yang pair you want to use.

  • Original Protocol IceWave or Energy Enhancer tan patch on left PC6 or HT7, and a white patch on right TB5 or SI4.

  • For stress relief and hormone balancing actions, use the SP6 Complete patch on the left PC6 or HT7 and the Aeon patch on the right TB5 or SI4.

  • For Stem cell enhancement actions, use X39 on the left PC6 or HT7 and X49 on the right TB5 or SI4

  • For supporting repair and detoxification, use Carnosine on the left PC6 or HT7 and use Glutathione or Aeon on the right TB5 or SI4 (Carnosine is relatively yin as compared with Aeon or Glutathione patch)

Do the 5 Elements Protocol daily, starting with Earth. And two days off. Dr. Dennis’ coauthored a book, Consistent Winning, back in the 90’s, discussing the Fibonacci sequence. How to peak performance based on the golden mean and spiral. You take advantage of the Fibonacci sequence energy when doing 5 days on and 2 days off.

The following is a recap of some of the questions and answers that were made during an episode of the Ask the Doctors Podcast with Dr. Karen Kan & Dr. Dennis Lobstein. These two individuals are amazing contributors to the Lifewave education community and I ow a lot of my learning and understanding around patching to them their continual contribution to the community. I have recapped these questions to help me better learn and digest the information they share on their podcast. I trust you get the same value form them as I have.

Q&A Callers - Karen, Kristen, Pat, and Ed

During the Q&A session, several callers had inquiries regarding the patching techniques and specific points in relation to the Five Elements Detoxification Protocol. Here are the summarized responses provided by Dr. Dennis and Dr. Karen:

Karen's Question:

Q: Is there a benefit to using the yang point on the left and the yin point on the right?

A: Dr. Dennis explained that using the opposite configuration can be helpful for individuals with reversed polarity or those who experience worsened symptoms with the standard yin/yang pairing. In certain pain situations caused by blockages in the flow of qi, placing the white patch on the pain area and the tan patch circling around (opposite of the Clock Method) may yield better results when using IceWave patches.

Kristen's Question:

Q: Is reckless blood the reason for easy bruising? She had a biopsy in 2016 and has been using the patches for six weeks.

A: Dr. Dennis recommended using the Earth Yin/Yang pair, with SP6 Complete on the left SP6 and Aeon on the right ST36. This combination can provide energetic support similar to Ginseng. He suggested incorporating Earth patches more frequently, alternating them between each element. For example, using Earth, Metal, Earth, Water, Earth, Wood, Earth, Fire, and so on. Dr. Dennis also mentioned the possibility of working with Kristen individually to address her specific concerns.

Pat's Question:

Q: Would surrounding the Dragon Protocol with glutathione help Kristen? Also, where are SI4, Bladder 60, and Gallbladder 40/41 located?

A: Dr. Dennis mentioned that, based on his experience, one could place patches around the problem area with intention to optimize their effectiveness. SI4 is located on the ulnar pinky side of the wrist in a depression. If sore, the area can be patched. Bladder 60 is situated on the outside of the ankle, between the Achilles tendon and the lateral malleolus, opposite Kidney 3. Gallbladder 40 is found in front of the lateral ankle bone, where ankle twists often occur, and Gallbladder 41 is located on top of the foot between the little toe and fourth toe.

Ed's Question:

Q: Are there any contraindications for using the patches?

A: Dr. Karen mentioned that it is essential to communicate to practitioners what LifeWave has researched and not researched. For instance, the use of patches in children, during pregnancy, and while breastfeeding has not been extensively studied. Anecdotal reports from clinicians can provide additional insights. Dr. Dennis and Dr. Karen advised against using patches like Glutathione and X39 during active cancer treatments such as radiation and chemotherapy. They also mentioned that a "soft" contraindication would be individuals who are unwilling to be open to natural therapies, as it may not be beneficial for them and could result in wasted expenses.
