LifeWave Patching Education Through Personal Experience - Blog 10

The following is a recap of some of the questions and answers that were made during an episode of the Ask the Doctors Podcast with Dr. Karen Kan & Dr. Dennis Lobstein. These two individuals are amazing contributors to the LifeWave education community and I owe a lot of my learning and understanding around patching to their continual contribution to the community. I have recapped these questions to help me better learn and digest the information they share on their podcast. I trust you get the same value form them as I have.

During the Q&A session, several callers had inquiries regarding the patching techniques and specific points in relation to the different symptoms that they have been experiencing, looking for advice to help symptoms using LifeWave patches. Here are the summarized responses provided by Dr. Dennis and Dr. Karen:

Preparing for Seasonal Changes

As the transition to autumn unfolds across many regions of North America, the onset of wind cold invasion becomes a concern, characterized by the infiltration of cold through the outer yang channels. This phenomenon, known as "wind" cold, occurs when cold air moves into the body, leading to stiffness in the outer sides of the neck, potentially escalating to mild headaches and post-nasal drip. To prevent the progression to wind heat, which manifests as a sore throat, it's crucial to maintain body warmth using patches, herbal remedies, or a combination of both. Energy enhancer and IceWave patches are particularly effective in promoting natural thermogenesis to counteract the transition from wind cold to wind heat.

While a healthy Wei Qi field typically shields against invasion, exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMF) may weaken this defense, rendering the Small Intestine and Bladder channels susceptible. To mitigate this vulnerability, it's advisable to avoid walking barefoot on cold tile floors, as cold exposure through the soles of the feet can impact these channels.

Wind Gate points such as Gallbladder 20 play a pivotal role in preventing the movement of Qi, while Triple Burner 5 and Bladder 12 serve to expel wind and release exterior blockages. Utilizing Gua Sha with a jade or stone spatula and an external warming oil over the Bladder 12 area between the shoulder blades facilitates the movement of Qi and Blood to the surface, aiding in toxin elimination. Observing the color of the skin after Gua Sha can provide insights into the condition of Qi, with bright hues indicating adequate oxygenation and purple hues suggesting stagnant Qi associated with chronic issues. Using an oil infused with San Qi or Panax Noto Ginseng further enhances the therapeutic effects of Gua Sha.

Recent Discoveries in Stress Management

Dr. Dennis delves into the latest stress research, staying abreast of evolving literature. He highlights the efficacy of patching Pericardium 6 and Kidney 3 in significantly reducing stress levels. Emerging findings discuss the neural pathways, beyond mere motor control, connecting muscles to the brain, implicating them in stress responses. Core muscle activation, including the erector spinae, hamstrings, and lower back muscles (governed by Kidney Qi), offers a pathway to alleviate stress, supported by patching Kidney 3 or Bladder 23 on the back.

Deficient Kidney Qi manifests as low back pain, exacerbated by chronic stress, emphasizing the interplay between stress and kidney function. Notably, strengthening core muscles can fortify Kidney Qi, suggesting a bidirectional relationship between muscle health and stress resilience.

Acupuncture Qi channels, namely sinews and cutaneous channels, play vital roles in stress modulation. The cutaneous channels, regulated by Lung Qi, the body's protective Wei Qi field, influence core muscles. Strengthening the Wei Qi field can be achieved through patching Lung 9 or Lung 7, with Energy Enhancers offering stress-reducing benefits.

Gallbladder 34 serves as the master point for sinews. Patching this point with Energy Enhancers aids in relaxation and stress alleviation, highlighting the interconnectedness of acupuncture points and stress management.

Q & A Callers

Signee - A chiropractor, Signee discusses a persistent swelling in the left posterior thigh for the past eight months, resulting from a past knee injury. Dr. Dennis suggests using Spleen 9 and Stomach 40 to address dampness and phlegm accumulation, recommending X39/49 patches on Spleen 9 left/right or X39 on left Spleen 9 and X49 on right Stomach 40. He also advises considering IceWave patches for enhanced movement and blockage release, providing alternative patching methods in the absence of IceWave.

Donna - Inquires about supporting natural healing for thyroid issues and gluten intolerance. Dr. Dennis highlights the potential autoimmune effects of glyphosate and suggests avoiding commercial gluten in favor of organic fermented sourdough. He recommends patching Large Intestine 10 for immune support and using Energy Enhancers or relative negative patches on the left and positive patches on the right, such as SP6C left/Aeon right or X39 left/X49 right. Additionally, he suggests utilizing Stomach 9 and Conception Vessel 22 points, along with alternative points like Large Intestine 18, to support thyroid health and overall immunity.

Becca – Seeking advice for her toddler's damaged front teeth, Becca expresses a preference for alternatives to traditional dental interventions. Dr. Dennis suggests monitoring the alignment of adult teeth following the injury and recommends patching stomach channels, specifically Stomach 5, 6, or 7 on the face, with IceWave patches. Dr. Karen proposes patching White Large Intestine 4 to alleviate pain, while also suggesting a combination of glutathione and carnosine or X39 for tissue healing.

Marilee – Experiencing widespread pain and inflammation post-food poisoning, Marilee seeks patching solutions. Dr. Dennis identifies damp heat as a potential cause and recommends using IceWave patches on Spleen 9 and Stomach 44 points. Dr. Karen suggests incorporating X39 for overall restoration and potentially adding Aeon for nighttime use if initial protocols do not yield results promptly.

Elissa – Inquiring on behalf of her friend with multiple health issues, Elissa seeks a patching solution for frequent urination and heart-related pain. Dr. Dennis recommends using Carnosine on Conception Vessel 17 for chest discomfort and X39 on Conception Vessel 3 for bladder issues, with additional support from Kidney 3 and Pericardium 6 patches if needed.

LaiPeng – Patching her mother for stomach issues, LaiPeng seeks guidance on improving protocol effectiveness. Dr. Dennis suggests supporting the Earth element with X39 on Conception Vessel 12 and bilateral Spleen 6 or 9 patches. He recommends incorporating the Aeon Brain Balancing protocol and emphasizes the importance of emphasizing Earth elements in the five-elements rotation.

Susan describes her cousin's severe swelling in the feet, which has affected his mobility. Dr. Karen suggests checking for mineral deficiency and considering essential amino acids and additional minerals. Dr. Dennis recommends tonifying the spleen and clearing toxins from the liver, offering specific patching suggestions for neurological issues and constipation.

Angelie discusses her sleep issues related to high blood lead levels and her inability to use X39 due to sleep disruption. Dr. Dennis and Dr. Karen advise adjusting patching frequency and recommend alternatives like Nirvana for sleep support.

Jeanne shares her experience with piriformis muscle stress and chronic fatigue. Dr. Dennis suggests specific patch placements for her condition, while Dr. Karen recommends using Energy Enhancers in the five elements protocol and considering magnesium supplementation.
